Project Idea: UHM GPS Tracker

Members: Clement Chow, Thane Luna, Benny Trieu, Susan Ma

Overview

Problem: The campus is quite big and many students and faculty can get lost in the big place. Especially if it’s their first time there
Solution: The UHM GPS tracker can assist students, faculty, and guests to find the building, classroom, office they are looking for.

Approach

The tracker will allow users to track where they are on campus via streets or buildings they are close by. In addition, users will be able to favorite frequently visited buildings.

Components: NavBar - Map, Search, History, Favorite

3. List Buildings - history of searches, favorite buildings

7. Admin - How many people are currently using the app

Use case ideas

Student → landing page → logs in → home page → Access to List of buildings, Building/Location
Admin → landing page → logs in → home page → Access to List of buildings, Building/Location, Database of the amount of people that are currently using the app

Beyond the basics

• Map-based interface to get the exact location of the user.
• Notification interface that tells you what buildings you are near and how close you are to your destination.
